Privacy Policy

Effective August 21, 2026

Share via XCancel does not collect, store, sell, or transmit personal information or browsing data.

How the extension works

When you use X’s Copy link command—or invoke the extension through its toolbar button, keyboard shortcut, or context-menu action—the extension processes the selected X or Twitter post URL locally on your device. It changes the supported domain to xcancel.com and writes the resulting URL to your clipboard.

This local processing is necessary to provide the extension’s sole user-facing feature.

Data collection and storage

The extension does not collect or retain URLs, page content, clipboard content, account information, personal communications, usage information, analytics, or identifiers.

Data sharing

No information is sent to the developer or sold, transferred, or disclosed to any third party. The extension makes no external network requests and contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or remotely hosted code.

Browser permissions

The extension runs only on supported X and Twitter pages to identify the post link selected by the user. Clipboard access is used only in response to a user-requested copy action. Temporary active-tab and scripting access supports the toolbar action and its on-page confirmation.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The extension’s use of information received from browser APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

If the extension’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the corresponding extension release. The effective date above indicates the latest revision.

Contact

For privacy questions, contact the developer through the support contact published on the extension’s Chrome Web Store listing.
