A 2017 page said a foreign client could obtain control of a Thai company and the benefit of freehold land ownership. A 2019 article assessed the likelihood of nominee prosecution and described a maintained dormant company as potentially safe.

The 2017 page also required genuine business activity and said the company could not exist only to acquire land. Those qualifications prevent an explicit-facilitation classification.
